This wine boasts an ancient history dating back to the ancient Roman era and to the famous Rhaetian wine, which was much praised and appreciated by the Latin poets. A symbol of the viticulture of Valpolicella Classica based on the very special technique of Appassimento, the natural ‘raisining’ of the ripest grapes, it is considered ‘the forefather’ of Amarone. Fragrant aromas of red fruits, especially raspberry, black cherry and plum. Generously sweet, soft and creamy with warm notes of raisins. Not at all cloying, it is an exceptionally balanced sweet red wine unique in the Italian wine scene.
