Producer – CVNE CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) is one of Rioja’s most historic wineries, founded in the nineteenth century and still family-owned today. The estate has built its reputation on producing wines that combine tradition with careful modern winemaking. While Rioja is best known for its reds, CVNE has long produced white wines that highlight freshness and varietal character. Monopole is one of Spain’s oldest continuously produced white wine brands and remains a benchmark for clean, approachable Rioja Blanco. Terroir & Winemaking Fruit is sourced from vineyards in Rioja Alta, where moderate temperatures and limestone-rich soils encourage balanced ripening and natural freshness. Warm sunny days allow Viura to develop flavour while cool evenings help preserve acidity and aromatic clarity. Grapes are harvested at optimal maturity and gently pressed before fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. The wine is matured briefly in tank to preserve fruit purity and freshness. No oak is used, ensuring a crisp and transparent expression of Viura. Tasting Notes Pale straw in colour with green reflections. Aromas of lemon zest, green apple and white flowers are supported by subtle mineral notes. The palate is dry and crisp, showing citrus and orchard fruit with bright acidity. The finish is clean, refreshing and lightly savoury.
