Description Gaviscon Extra Chewable Tablets bring fast, soothing and long-lasting relief from the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion. Following meals or during pregnancy, and in patients with symptoms related to oesophagitis. Gaviscon Extra Tablets work in 2 ways: a combination of two antacids to neutralise excess stomach acid and an alginate which forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents, keeping it away from the lining of the food pipe. Suitable for use during pregnancy or breast-feeding. DOSAGE: For Oral use. Adults and children over 12 years: Take two to four tablets after meals and at bedtime, up to 4 times a day. Children under 12 years: Should only be given on medical advice. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT GAVISCON EXTRA CHEWABLE TABLETS: Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine during pregnancy, if you are taking any other prescription medications, regular medicines or receiving regular treatment. If symptoms persist after 7 days consult your doctor. Each chewable tablet contains 250mg sodium alginate, 106.5mg sodium bicarbonate and 187.5mg calcium carbonate.
