The Montresor wine Amarone Montresor Satinato Della Valpollicella – Corvina is an accessible and delicious example of a new style of Amarone in a distinctive black frosted bottle. Get this six bottle case from Jean Juviniere. The tasting notes for this Amarone feature hints of ground coffee and dark chocolate on the nose. Tastes include ripe crushed berry, sharp cherry and very plummy fruit, backed by notes of bitter chocolate. This creates a rich and warming fresh that is astonishingly well balanced, with supple tannins and a bold texture. This wine is made from Corvina(70%), Rondinella(20%) and Molinara(10%) berries cultivated in Montresor’s vineyards in the Amarone wine Valpolicella Classico zone (northwest of Verona). Grapes are hand-harvested and then dried out for four months (until February of the following year) and then crushed. The wine is fermented in stainless steel for four months and then aged in Slavonian oak casks and small French barrique for two years to intensify the flavours. Cuisine pairings: Excellent with red meats, game or hard cheeses, especially Parmesan. ABV: 15% Volume: 6 x 75cl
