Sancerre Loire Sauvignon blanc is an unfiltered fine white wine made from 100% Sauvignon grapes. The lack of processing makes for a wine that is far juicier than expected, with the tart flavour of crisp lemons. Other clean fruits come through on the palate along with a slightly bitter almond taste. The aroma is herbaceous, with scents of evergreens, garden herbs, and fresh hay. After the harvest from the 25-year-old vines, the wine spends 12 months in steel containers to ferment. This produces a pale straw colour that looks elegant in the glass. Sancerre is considered the premier location for Sauvignon Blanc wine across the world and this bottle reinforces that reputation. Food pairings: suitable to accompany cold summer meals, salads, or seafood dishes and potato.
